I coopeer Pearl to be a very good villain. I knew nothing but the basic plot. I am a fan of Tamora Pierce and the Beka Cooper series was one of my favorites.

I missed Pounce, but I guess even constellations need to go home every once in a while. Dale is not only not an exception to this, he’s beak much the quintessential embodiment of oblivious lazy rakish assumption-making.
If only a smart, savvy young cop could fix out problems as easily as Beka fixed Tortall’s. My only complaint about the book is just that — it was all solved rather quickly and easily.

Great Girl Role Models. Things don’t get too graphic, but Beka does sometimes get preoccupied by thinking about “swiving. Beka Cooper is yet another well-written, captivating novel by Tamora Pierce.
Am I now again eagerly waiting for the next book? While magic certainly has a role in the story Beka can talk to ghosts carried by pigeons, as well as pick up snippets of conversation from small whirlwindsit’s far less central than in Pierce’s other books. Other than the romance though the book was full of character and world development with bloodhohnd plot that kept you guessing through the entire book.
